Race for the White House
It's beyond belief that Donald Trump has got the Republican nomination. Still he comes out with his nonsense, the latest being to call Hilary Clinton "the devil" and claiming that the election may be rigged.

Why do Americans tolerate this man? What has happened to the US?

Capitol Man if American you be
Then leave the election momentarily
And answer me this
Then we shall see.

If America be
Top of the pile
Foremost capitalist nation state
Pinnacle of democracy
Possesor of guile
Where rich are made president
By spending in style

If true here be
Then the wide world
We
Citizens of earth ask of thee...

It is a piteous state of parlous affairs that future historians will puzzle over and future generations will lament: a stain on the American story. That You cannot fucking prevent the continued and repeated murder of your children and innocents is one of the great tragedies of modernity.

What say on this scene?

The burning of Washington - 1814.

-------

My name is Jon Vines
Kings 9th i reside in
With shot cannister & grape hides
We shot withering broadsides in
And reduced the white house
To smoking wreck blacked & fallen from grace -
Burnt down in the din of our gunnery pace.

Sooted faced we looked in on the place
Where old glory once hung atop
The domed carpace.
Now ript down doomed & torn
for her majesties grace

Russia funds ISIS in order to seriously threaten Assad, one of their biggest allies in the world.

It's obvious innit.

And I daresay so does the vile House of Saud. We're talking about how they became established, which is different.

Stop fucking around.

Russia funds ISIS and you know it.

Re: Race for the White House
No, I think they armed certain 'rebel' groups without much thought as to how those rebel groups would develop. Are we saying that didn't really happen? I categorically don't blame them for that because largely you're responding to the here and now when you make those decisions, and what else can you do?

I actually think they acted correctly but as with Saddam couldn't know how it would pan out.

Re: Race for the White House
Have you any idea how much Russian federal money goes to Kadyrov and his like on a daily basis? If anything like this went on in the West there'd be a fucking referendum son.

There's not much to support that though is there. Mainly just those that want to take a pop at the yanks.

That we, ie. the West but mainly the US, initially armed what is now ISIS. He was fairly clear about it.

I think they did it deliberately Capitol Man, they just didn't foresee where it would end up, and in fairness that's not something to be overly critical about.

No, but a brief window would be good. We could use that sliver of sobriety and self awareness to get it through to you what a cunt you are. Only kidding! But you have needlessly had a go at Ron for a perfectly reasonable and accurate viewpoint. I doubt he''s cut up about it but it doesn't reflect well on you, you Polack pisstank.

Re: Race for the White House
They didn't really arm ISIS though, not deliberately anyway. From the start it was always the aim to support "moderate" groups. They were aware ISIS, or AQ were there.

What trump means is by pulling out of Iraq he founded Isis, which is a stretch given his predecessor's actions in invading In the first place.
